The following families have in the past had close ties as one can see by the graphical presentation above. There is more as will be seen as one looks through this presentation. These families are shown by generations which may in some ways be more difficult to follow.
ABOVE: Shiloff - Heshelow Women
First Generation
Kalman Geselov was born Russia. Kalman married Baile Shiloff. Baile was born in Russia.
Notes: According to Alexander Beider in his book; A dictionary of Jewish Surnames from the Russian Empire, the name was possibly, Geshelev. Kalman and Baile were probably married in Shklov. Various English spellings of the family name: Geshelev, Geshelov, Geselev, Heshelow, Heshelev, Tsylov.
Kalman and Baile had the following children:
- (f) Vellya, (Will) Heshelow
- (f) Etta Heselov
- (m) Schmara Heselov
- (m) Leon Heshelow. Leon married Chana Rochel Michlin.
Note: Chana's sister; Frada a brother of Kune (Mary Katherine) Shiloff, nee Rosen. Frada and spouse Rosen had two childen; Morris of Minneapolis and Bill of Chicago.
Second Generation
Vellya (Will) Heshelow - (Kalman). Vellya married Dvoshe Raise Michlin. They had the following children:
- (f) Sora, Mary Heshelow was born in 1886 and died on October 14, 1978.
- (m) Hillel ( William) Heshelow.
- (f) Krana (Katherine)(Kate) Heshelow was born in 1899 and died in 1972.
- (m) Zalman Heshelow. Did not emigrate. Married Malke.
- (f) Judith Heshelow. Did not emigrate.
- (m) Yisreal Baer Heshelow. Did not emigrate. Married Hanna Mary.
- (f) Etta Heselov - (Kalman)
Etta settled in Youngstown, Ohio and uses the name as shown. In Russia she lived in Kakinika or Sklov. She married Chaim Harry Henkin. They had the following children:
- (f) Elissa Henkin
- (f) Zenith Henkin. Zenith is a journalist and writer. Her books are: Seasons of the Heart, Men and Women talk about love sex and romance after 60. Zenith married Gross.
- (f) Marion Henkin
- (f) Lillian Henkin. Lillian married Strean. Their children, a boy and girl are Professors in Ann Arbor and Teaneck NJ.
Schmara Heselov - (Kalman). Schmara's first wife, Sora probably died. He than married Sonia. Schmara settled in Youngstown, Ohio and uses the name as shown. In Russia, he lived in Kakinika or Sklov. Schmara also married Sonia. They had the following children:
- (m) Morris Heshelow
- (m) Saul Heshelow. Saul married Melrose Ocker, sister to Albert Ocker, husband of Edythe Shuman.
- (f) Henrietta Heshelow. Used to work as an extra in movies. Henrietta married Lou Bernkrant
- (m) Simon Heselov
Third Generation
Sora Mary Heshelow - (Vellya, (Will) Heshelow, Kalman) was born in 1886 in Shklov, Russia. She died on October 14, 1978 in Sioux City Iowa. Sora married David Shuman in 1905. David was born in 1884 in Russia. He died on July 4, 1949 in Norfolk, NE. Immigration to the USA was from Hamburg, May 12, 1905 on the ship Pretoria.
Arriving in NY, NY on June 7, 1905. The ship could accommodate 2000 third class passengers.
The Shuman's lived in Boston for a while then moved to Sioux City, Iowa for a time and eventually moved to Mitchell, SD where David operated a small tailor shop in a hotel.
David had two brothers and a sister who were in Sioux City, they also left, Louis went to Newark NJ and Abe went to the Bronx in NY. Abe was also a tailer. Sister Katherine (Kate) married Saul Melcher (perhaps in Omaha NE) The Melchers lived in Wessington Springs and Letcher, SD at the time David lived in Mitchell. The Shuman family moved to Minneapolis living on the north side. David and Sora, had the following children:
- (f) Ether Lillian Shuman was born on December 25 1905 and died on October 13, 1991.
- (f) Edythe Shuman was born on July 12, 1912 and died on 10 Dec 1986.
- (m) Carl Shuman was born on May 3, 1917 in Sioux City Iowa. He died in 1977 in Omaha NE. graduated from North High School in Mitchell. Carl married Esther in Philadelphia, PA.
- (m) Bernard Shuman was born on 17 Oct 1922.
- (f) Hillel ( William) Heshelow - (Vellya, (Will) Heshelow, Kalman).
Hillel married Hanna ( Anna) Shiloff, and is the sister of Myer Shiloff and Barnett Shiloff. Hillel and Henna had the following children:
- (f) Ida Geshelov - Heshelow was born in 1907 in Boston.
- (m) Sovel Geshelov - Heshelow was born in 1908 in Sioux City Iowa.
- (f) Bertha Geshelov - Heshelow was born in 1912 in Sioux City Iowa.
Krana (Katherine) (Kate) Heshelow - (Vellya, (Will) Heshelow, Kalman) was born in 1899 in Shklov, Russia. She died in 1972 in Buffalo, NY and was buried Sioux City, Iowa. Krana married Saul Melcher in Sioux City, Iowa or Omaha. Saul died in 1956. They had the following children:

- (f) Marion Henkin - (Etta Heselov, Kalman)
- (m) Calvin Roth
- (m) Sanford Roth
- (f) Sarah Bernice Geshelov - Heshelow. Sarah married Ben Belfer. Ben died in 1973. Sarah later married Joe Weiss.
Fourth Generation
Ether Lillian Shuman - (Sora, Mary Heshelow, Vellya, (Will) Heshelow, Kalman) was born on December 25, 1905 in Sioux City, Iowa. (She died on 13 October 1991 in Lincoln, NE). Esther graduated from high school in Mitchell. She went to Minneapolis and worked at a Bouteels Department Store. While there she lived with distant relatives; Morris and Berdie Rosen. They had a son; Warren who sang at Bernard and Marion Shuman's wedding. Morris and Bill Rosen were nephews of Barney and Myer Shiloff. While living in Norfolk, VA in 1936 Ether married Jack Nisker. Jack managed the shoe department in the Melchers women dress store. (Jack died on March 25, 1992 in Lincoln NE). They had the following children:

- (m) Wes Nisker
Edythe Shuman - (Sora, Mary Heshelow, Vellya, (Will) Heshelow, Kalman) was born on July 12, 1912 in Sioux City, Iowa. (She died on 10 December 1986) Graduated from high school in Mitchell. Edythe married Albert Ocker in 1948 in Detroit, MI. Albert died in 1978 in Sioux City, Iowa. They had the following children:
- (m) David Ocker. David married Leslie Harris in Los Angeles, CA.
Bernard Shuman - (Sora, Mary Heshelow, Vellya, (Will) Heshelow, Kalman) was born on October 17, 1922 in Sioux City Iowa. 1940, Ben graduated from North High School in Mitchell. During WWII while Ben was stationed at Fort Belvoir, VA he met Uncle Louis and Uncle Abe. Only having the address of the store, Ben was fortunate that while walking in the area and a bit frustrated, he saw a man who looked just like his father David, just a bit smaller, and indeed it was Abe. Bernard married Marion Rubin in 1956. They had the following children:

- (f) Debbie Shuman
- (f) Judy Shuman
Beverly Melcher - (Krana (Katherine) (Kate) Heshelow, Vellya, (Will) Heshelow, Kalman). Beverly married Dr. Sig Nadler. They had the following children:
- (m) Geoffrey Nadler
- (f) Shail Nadler
- (f) Kim Nadler
- (f) Kim Nadler
Fifth Generation
Jan Nisker - (Ether Lillian Shuman, Sora, Mary Heshelow, Vellya, (Will) Heshelow, Kalman) was born in Norfolk, NE. Jan married Roy Buffum. The marriage ended in divorce. They had the following children:

- (m) Scott Buffum
- (m) Stacy Buffum
Wes Nisker - (Ether Lillian Shuman, Sora, Mary Heshelow, Vellya, (Will) Heshelow, Kalman) was born in Norfolk, NE. Wes married Carol Ostin. The marriage ended in divorce. They had the following children:
- (f) Rose Nisker. Rose married Terry
Ellis Samuel Shuman - (Bernard Shuman, Sora, Mary Heshelow, Vellya, (Will) Heshelow, Kalman) was born in Sioux City, Iowa. Ellis married Jodie Kaufman, 1979 in Neve Ilan Israel. They had the following children:

- (m) Erez Shuman
Debbie Shuman - (Bernard Shuman, Sora, Mary Heshelow, Vellya, (Will) Heshelow, Kalman). Debbie married Barry Schwartz, 1981 in Jerusalem. They had the following children:

- (f) Talia Schwartz
- (m) Noam Schwartz
Judy Shuman - (Bernard Shuman, Sora, Mary Heshelow, Vellya, (Will) Heshelow, Kalman) was born in Sioux City, Iowa. Judy married Shlomo Elispur in 1982. They had the following children:

- (m) Raz Elispur
Sixth Generation
Stacy Buffum - (Jan Nisker, Ether Lillian Shuman, Sora, Mary Heshelow, Vellya, (Will) Heshelow, Kalman) was born in Fort Collins, CO. He had the following children:
